REFLECTION
Reflection
It is such a pleasant experience to do this CityU-PHH Telecollaboration and all of us gain a lot. Not only do we have deeper insights and get a better idea of what we’ve studied, but also learn to use different tools which we have never used.
At first, the telecolaboration project was a real challenge for me, considering all the technical competences that are needed for handling the communication through facebook,wechat and editing this website. Though it is a lot of work, my competences did really get improved through this project. I enjoyed talking with my partners in HongKong and I was surprised that our collaboration went well although we are so different e.g in culture and education system.

If we were the teacher, we may use WIX and Facebook in my teaching. WIX can be used to create a website for the sake of providing extra materials for students to learn, and Facebook is used for discussing and exchanging ideas with classmates.
Through collaboration with global team, we know that when doing cross-cultural communication, we need to be considerate and to convey our meaning as clear as possible in order not to cause misunderstanding. As for educational learning, we do learn a lot, because it is the issue that we study at and through figuring out the solutions, we learned many updated and practical theories and methods to language teaching. Besides, during the process, we tried some new tools, which can be used in our own language teaching and promote students’ learning efficiency.

All the tools are beneficial to our communication and collaboration. First of all, about.me is an interesting tool to do bios. On the platform, we can not only write self-introduction but also provide pictures and share things we are interested in with others, which helps others know better about us at their first impressions. Google Docs is an effective tool to do collaborative work. We can edit it simultaneously anytime and anywhere which saves us a lot of time in writing the literature review. WIX is a creative tool to present our findings. We can design an intriguing website through our creativities. And other tools, like Facebook, WeChat, Skype etc., also play an important role in communicating with group members.
